1. While the scale is off, press and hold the “UNIT CONVERSION”
button.
2. While continuing to hold down the “UNIT CONVERSION”
button, also press and hold down the “ON/OFF” button.
3. The display will show “88888”, then “A-oF” The auto-off
feature is now disabled. Release the buttons.
4. To enable the auto-off feature again, repeat steps 1 and 2.
“A-on” will appear. The auto-off feature is now functional.
2. DO NOT immerse unit in water, as doing so will cause
damage to internal components and void the warranty. If
you spill liquid on it, dry it immediately with a soft, lint-free
cloth.
3. DO NOT clean the unit with an abrasive or corrosive
material. This may scratch the plastic parts and corrode the
electronic circuits.
4. DO NOT subject the units to excessive force, shock, dust,
temperature or humidity. This may result in malfunction,
shorter electronic life span, damaged battery and distorted
parts.
5. DO NOT tamper with the unit's internal components. Doing
so will invalidate the warranty on the units and may cause
damage. The unit contains no user-serviceable parts.
6. This scale is an extremely sensitive weighing device. To avoid
damage to the unit or the battery, do not store anything on
the scale.
7. Remove the battery if the scale will not be used for a long
period of time.
8. DO NOT dispose of batteries in fire. Disposing of this product

General Operation
The Digital Portion Control Scale operates with a rechargeable
battery (included). To install and charge the battery:
1. Remove the battery compartment door on the bottom of the
scale.

(50%) can be tared out. Once tared out, an added weight of 11 lbs (full
capacity plus 10%) can still be weighed without causing an overload

Press the Unit Conversion Button to switch from fractional ounces to
decimal ounces to grams to ounces. When the scale is turned off, it
will remember the unit mode last shown and will turn-on in that mode.

The “HOLD” function may be used to lock the weight on the display for
ten (10) seconds, even after the load is removed from the platform.

5. To charge the battery, insert the connector plug of the adaptor
into the jack at the back of the scale. Plug the other end of the
adaptor into the proper electrical outlet. A red LED on the side of
the scale will light up, indicating the battery is charging. When the
LED light changes to green, the battery is completely charged.
6. Allow at least 12 hours for the scale to charge completely. The
scale will then operate continuously for approximately 14 hours.
7. The battery life cycle is approximately 500 recharges. If the scale
does not function properly after at least 12 hours of charging, the
battery may need to be replaced. The scale will still operate on
adaptor power if the battery is not charged.
To use the hold function, press the “HOLD” button. A small triangle will
appear in the upper left corner of the display next to the word “hold”,
indicating the hold function is turned on. This triangle and the “hold”
function will remain in place until the “HOLD” button is pressed again.
This pressing of the “HOLD” button a second time will cancel the “hold”
function, and the triangle will disappear from the display. While the
scale is in “HOLD” mode:
WEIGHING
When the display shows “0”, the scale is ready to weigh an object. If
the object exceeds the capacity of the scale by more than 10%, the
display will show “Err” (for error). Until the overload condition is
reached, additional objects may be placed on the platform. The
display will show the sum of the weights of all the objects. When one
of multiple objects is removed from the platform, the weight of the
remaining objects will display.

Place a load on the platform. When the weight is locked in, the triangle
will begin to flash. When the load is removed from the platform, the
display will continue to show the weight for ten seconds. After the ten
second period is up, the triangle will stop flashing, and the display will
show “0”. If the load is not removed from the platform, the triangle will
continue to flash. The ten second “hold” period will begin once the
load is finally removed from the platform.

TARE OPERATION
To tare (zero out) a load on the platform (example: the weight of a
container), press the “TARE” button. The display will show the value
“0”.
When pressed, the weight will display for ten seconds, even

A load of up to 50% of the scale's capacity can be tared out, while still
allowing the weighing of an additional object, up to the full capacity
of the scale.
PRECAUTION: Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode
or leak. Remove the batteries if the scale will not be used for a long
period of time.
When the scale turns off, the hold function is cancelled. When the scale
is turned on again, it will be in normal operating mode.
